August represents a shift in energy as we move through the end of summer and transition into fall. I always feel like my awareness is heightened as I reflect on the memories and accomplishments of the last few months and make a mental note of the things I still want to experience. It has been a wonderful summer filled with memories I will cherish, and a lot of behind the scenes work on my coaching and future collaborations. I am also in the process of planning a trip to Tulum in the next 1-2 months to plan our wedding (SO excited!) – please let me know if you have any recommendations!
Despite the chill in the air here in NYC, I am still high-vibing off of the Spring energy and continuing to evaluate my wardrobe, beauty routine + home to make sure it is serving me to its fullest potential. This past weekend I rearranged my apartment and did a mini-closet clean out, taking inventory of what I have and where I need to fill in the gaps for the fast approaching summer season. The energy was cleared in a major way, and I immediately began feeling more inspired and at peace.
Every month I will be sharing my go-to essentials that leave me feeling creative, excited, comfortable and in-tune with my body and space. Lighter layers, nourishing snacks for picnics in the park, peaceful meditations + revitalizing scents are just a few of the items that are lighting me up for the month of May.
Around this time of year, when winter is at its peak and routines can feel monotonous, I always look forward to New York Fashion Week for a surge of inspiration and new ways to have fun with my style and beauty routine.
From 70’s glam at Mara Hoffman to the ethereal beauty of a deep burgundy lip at Rodarte, the perfect mix of East and West Coast style at Jenni Kayne to DKNY top knots, chunky statement knits to printed socks with loafers, the fun is choosing what inspires you and translating it into your everyday style. Personally, I have been wearing my long vintage dresses with tights and chunky knits all winter long and can’t wait to start peeling off the layers and letting them shine as we transition into Spring. I also can’t enough of the ease and versatility of a jumpsuit (done to perfection by Rosie Assoulin) and white denim on the weekends with a simple choker as seen by Assembly New York.
Hello! I wanted to start off by saying thank you to everyone for the positive response from my first post in the Dreamer Style series. It seems many of you agree with my view of fashion and that it is so much more than just an outfit. I am beyond thrilled to be sharing this side of my life and bring my love and perspective of style to Jewels of a Dreamer.
An outfit is not just the clothes we choose to wear but a creative expression of our internal energy.
For years I went back and forth with the idea of sharing my outfits and personal style. Would it be viewed as narcissistic and materialistic? Would people judge me or even really want to see? These thoughts were based in fear and came from a misguided place.
It was before I really understood that every woman, of every age, size, race and ethnicity, is striving to deeply understand themselves. Personal style is one of the most monumental and powerful aspects of this.
I love the effortless and classic style of ELLE Accessories Director, Maria Dueñas Jacobs. Even after years of following her, she consistently inspires me with her simple yet striking combinations. This was one of my top picks worn during Milan Fashion Week. As always her attention to detail completely transforms the outfit taking denim-on-denim and pairing it with a striped sweater, a neck scarf, white boots and fringe bucket bag leaving me excited to re-create this look immediately.
